This position performs and coordinates tasks involved in the grant application process including identification of potential funding sources, writing, editing, and critiquing, developing program concepts, preparing project budgets, creating timelines, and completing grant certifications.
The successful candidate must be able to assess the funding needs and programs of the Code Compliance department and examine and/or recommend sources of grant funding and address those needs; communicate with federal and state officials and representatives to identify grant opportunities and monitor legislation that affects grant opportunities; make presentations regarding funding opportunities and trends; track approved grants to facilitate implementation; research, prepare and distribute narrative reports, Mayor and Council Communications, administrative and statistical reports; and develop, implement and manage special projects as assigned. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience required.
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field PLUS prior increasingly responsible administrative and/or project management experience in support of a department, division or major service area including one year in a lead capacity.

Office environment; exposure to computer screens, working closely with others.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time; manual dexterity required.
