The City of Ft. Worth Police Records Management Unit requires a Customer Service Rep II to respond to inquiries and requests. The CSR II will research and retrieve pertinent police report information requested by the public, police personnel, as well as outside agencies and provide copies per scheduled fees.
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years of responsible clerical experience in an office or clerical setting and a minimum of two (2) years prior cash handling and cashier experience. Possess excellent customer service skills for heavy public contact and telephone skills are a must. Applicant is required to have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Ten-Key touch.
PREFERENCE: Associate Degree or higher, Extensive clerical, telephone, public contact, Data Entry and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Bilingual-Spanish, prior Police experience, Tiburon, Computerized Aided Dispatch (CAD), and prior Military experience.
TEST: Applicants must pass an Office Proficiency Assessment Certification exam with a score of 70 and typing exam with a minimum of 40 words per minute. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background investigation, polygraph examination and drug screening. Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous year, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last ten (10) years.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday 9:00 am till 6:00 pm.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS:WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment with exposure to computer screens. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.
PHYSICAL DEMAND: The incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, pull, and push. Ability to lift a minimum of forty (40) pounds of records in a box. Must stretch or reach above your head, stoop and/or bend over to retrieve files or boxes from shelving. Must be able to push/pull carts or other items that may contain boxes of records up to 80 lbs. Daily performance of duties in an office environment with an occasional performance of duties in a warehouse/storeroom environment (weekly) with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and humidity.
Conditions of Employment: Persons selected for employment into any position must pass a drug test. Some positions may require passing an alcohol test. Previous employment and any additional experience will be subject to verification prior to employment processing. A driver's license and driving record check will be conducted if driving is a job requirement. A post offer employment medical examination may be conducted prior to job placement. You will be paid by direct deposit or pay card only.
