The City of Fort Worth is recruiting to hire a Community Center Coordinator for the Parks and Community Services Department, Community Services Division, to oversee and coordinator Community Center and /or public facility activities and social programs; to implement social programming goals and objectives; and to perform a variety of administrative and professional tasks in support of an assigned area of responsibility. This center provides leisure programming and social services through the Community Action Partners program.
The successful candidate should be prepared to provide affordable programs and services to include performing and visual arts, after school and school break programs, sports leagues, health education, fitness programs and special events and Contract Instructors.
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this program:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Business Management or a related field PLUS four (4) years of increasingly responsible community service, recreational, sports management, or social activity experience including one (1) year of administrative responsibility. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint computer skills required. Ideal candidate must have budget and office management/supervisory experience; heavy public contact.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Possession of a valid Texas drivers license is required.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS:City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.
Office environment; may be required to travel to and from various agencies; work closely with others.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, or working for extended periods of time; adequate speech, hearing, and vision required; ability to operate assigned office equipment.
Conditions of Employment: Persons selected for employment into any position must pass a drug test. Some positions may require passing an alcohol test. Previous employment and any additional experience will be subject to verification prior to employment processing. A driver's license and driving record check will be conducted if driving is a job requirement. A post offer employment medical examination may be conducted prior to job placement. You will be paid by direct deposit or pay card only.
