To supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of subordinates assigned enforcement and security duties in all sections of the City Marshals Office; to ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; to perform the more technical and complex task relative to assigned area of responsibility; and to provide highly responsible supervisory assistance to the City Marshal. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills required.
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
High School Diploma or GED required. Additionally, the position requires at least 60 semester hours of college level course work in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field. Six years experience in a law enforcement related field, or security of governmental buildings/structures, or active duty military police experience including, two years of administrative or lead supervisory responsibilities.
License or Certificate
Valid Texas drivers license or must be obtained within 30 days of hire Valid Advanced Certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education within six (6) months of hire
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:The Municipal Court operates 24 hours per day seven days per week, this includes weekends and holidays. The incumbent must commit to possibility of working any shift within a 24 hour period, any day of the week as needed.

Field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to potentially hostile environments.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking, standing or running for prolonged periods; moderate or light lifting and carrying; operating motorized equipment and vehicles; the ability to discharge a firearm and execute the arrest of a person.
Conditions of Employment: Persons selected for employment into any position must pass a drug test. Some positions may require passing an alcohol test. Previous employment and any additional experience will be subject to verification prior to employment processing. A driver's license and driving record check will be conducted if driving is a job requirement. A post offer employment medical examination may be conducted prior to job placement.
