THIS A TEMPORARY POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS
The Code Compliance Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of a Temporary Administrative Technician to coordinate and provide routine administrative and technical support to the daily operations of the administrative section.
The temporary Administrative Technician will perform investigations of substandard building violations. This will include locating, mapping and designating burned and imminent collapse hazard structures within the City of Fort Worth. This position requires extensive use of spreadsheets.
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
Associates Degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration or related field plus two (2) years of combined complex clerical and routine administrative experience is required.
High School Diploma/GED certification plus four (4) years of combined complex clerical and administrative experience may be substituted for education requirement.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills are required. Ability to read MAPSCO and maps are required.
Must possess a valid Texas drivers license, proof of liability and an acceptable driving record is required.
Must pass a Computerized Office Skills exam with a minimum score of 70; and must type 40 wpm.
Must be able to take and pass a typing and clerical exam. The clerical exam is administered Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Appointments are not required. For more information, call 817-392-7750.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS:City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.
Office or library environment; exposure to computer screens, working closely with others. Long periods in and out of automobile. Position will spend 20-35% of time outdoors.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time; manual dexterity required.

Previous employment and any additional experience will be subject to verification prior to employment processing. A driver's license and driving record check will be conducted if driving is a job requirement. A post offer employment medical examination may be conducted prior to job placement.
